How to create a Facebook Ads Account

STEP 1: Create a business manager (Meta business suite) Account

  1. Go to: https://business.facebook.com/
  2. Click “Create Account”.
  3. Log into your personal Facebook account (this will be the admin for the Business Manager).
  4. Enter your business name, your name, and business email.
  5. Click Submit.

🔒 Don’t worry — your personal info won’t be used in ads. Facebook just needs a real person to manage the account.

STEP 2: Add Your Business Page (or Create One)

  1. Inside Business Manager, go to the “Business Settings”.
  2. Under “Accounts > Pages”, click Add.
    • Choose Add a Page if you already have one.
    • Choose Create a New Page if you don’t.
    • Choose Request Access to a Page if someone else owns it and you want access.

STEP 3: Create Your Facebook Ads Account

  1. Still in Business Settings, go to Accounts > Ad Accounts.
  2. Click the blue “Add” button and choose one of:
    • Create a new ad account (choose this if you’re starting fresh).
    • Add an existing ad account (if you already made one before).
    • Request access to an ad account (if you’re working with a client or agency).
  3. When creating:
    • Name your ad account (e.g., “ACME Co Ads”).
    • Select the time zone and currency (⚠️ You can’t change these later!).
    • Choose that it will be used for your business.
  4. Click Create and assign people (like yourself or employees) to manage the ad account.
  5. Set permissions as needed (e.g., Admin access).

STEP 4: Add a Payment Method

  1. Go to Business Settings > Payments.
  2. Click Add Payment Method.
  3. Enter your credit/debit card, PayPal, or other payment info.
  4. Save changes.

💡 Tip: You can set a spending limit to control ad costs.

STEP 5: Verify Business Information (Recommended)

  1. In Business Settings, go to Business Info.
  2. Enter accurate legal business name, address, phone, and website.
  3. If prompted, begin the Business Verification process (especially important if you’re running sensitive-category ads like housing or political content).
